Creative Carvings

If you can imagine it we will do our best to capture your imagination. Really excited about the work we have done for Nueva Vista Golf Club in Midland, TX. The Head Golf Professional Mike Crosser wanted to enhance the golf experience and asked us to build a number of signs for him. Our first project were tee box signs for Hole 1 and 10. We have also added a Driving Range sign for Nueva Vista.

Nueva Vista lost a long time loved employee “Tommy” in August 2019. Mike and the rest of the staff wanted to salute Tommy who drilled a Hole in One on #13. We were thrilled to be able to create a lasting salute to Tommy.

Years ago I made a door sign for our first grandchild. Years had pasted when all of the other grandchildren wanted me to make them their own sign. With the addition of the Axiom Pro CNC I was able to get creative. Each of the plaques are personalized to represent the character of each grandchild.

Our Neighbors had been looking a some signs to put on their Community Club House bathrooms. Being in the mountains with trees and elk all around I created the following for them.

Having spent 25 years in the United States I love to make items to salute our great country and the men and women who serve. While hiking the Appalachian Trail I met Night Train (Trail name) who retired from the Army. I wanted to send him something special and made this “Dog Tag” plaque for him. I can special it for your favorite Veteran.

We have had fun making an array of items. Around Christmas time our cutting boards are favorites. I make end grain cutting boards. If you not familiar with them they are easy on your knives and last a lifetime if properly cared for. End Grain cutting boards are made with some of the densest wood – Maple, Cherry, Hard Maple and then accented with a purple heart or paduka.   Because of this they are more durable and last longer than conventional cutting boards. Most conventional cutting boards are made with edge grain which exposes the grains to be cut during use and harder on your knives.  With end grain it is very dense and has a greater tolerance for chopping/cutting motion.  With the wood fibers facing up in an end grain cutting board the fibers allow the knives to slide through them reducing the wear on your knives.   After the knives pass through the fibers, they close back up giving the cutting board a self-healing ability. With care the cutting boards can be passed down from generation to generation.

We are currently busy with our custom orders and would love to serve you. If you have a wedding coming up then I know your new bride would enjoy the Stacked Text board commemorating their new chapter in life.
